Pretty much everything you need to get out on the water. We provide rods, reels, baits, boat, fuel, and so on. Water will also be provided, but it’s advised to bring your own drinks and snacks if you’d like them. Fishing licenses must also be purchased prior to the trip. They can be purchased locally or very easily online.
2. Do I need to bring my own fishing gear?
Nope! We’ve got you covered. You can bring your equipment if you’d like to use it, but it’s not required. We’ll have everything you need for a great trip.
3. What items should I bring with me on the crappie fishing trip?
It’s recommended to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, comfortable clothing, non-slip shoes, snacks, and drinks. Don’t forget your camera to capture the experience!
4. How many people can join the fishing charter?
Crappie trips are usually for 2-5 anglers. However, if you need a larger group, then please let us know when you call.
5. What happens if the weather is bad on the day of the charter?
Safety is the top priority on our Toledo Bend Crappie trips. Toledo Bend can get very rough quickly, so if the weather is bad on the day of your crappie charter, then we will work on rescheduling your trip. If rescheduling is not possible, then we will refund the trip.
6. Do I need a fishing license for a guided trip?
Yes, you need a fishing license for a guided crappie trip on Toledo Bend. Either a Texas or Louisiana license will work, but each person on the trip will need their own license. Licenses can be purchased ahead of time at Walmart, local sporting goods stores, and even online.
7. Can we keep the fish we catch?
Absolutely! That’s part of the reason for the trip… to send you home with some amazing-tasting crappie filets that you can enjoy for many meals to come.
8. What is the best time of year to catch crappie at Toledo Bend?
The best time for crappie fishing is typically during the spring (March to May) when crappie are spawning, but they can also be caught in the fall and winter. Our guides are experts in crappie fishing, so they will be sure to get you own the fish!
9. What is the crappie size limit on Toledo Bend?
According to current regulations, the minimum length for crappie at Toledo Bend is 10 inches, with a daily limit of 25 per angler. Five or six decent crappie can provide a single meal for a family of four, so one day’s catch can provide multiple home-cooked meals for your family.
10. Can you fish for crappie year-round at Toledo Bend?
Yes, absolutely! There’s no restriction on crappie during different times of the year.
